PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The Degree Program in Tajwid/Tajweed provides you with the opportunity and honor of becoming part of one of the shortest and most authentic chains of transmission, linking you to the prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.   Students commence as complete beginners and go through to an advanced level over two years. The Degree Program in Tajwid/Tajweed has been carefully structured to allow you to measure your progress step by step. Learning Tajwid/Tajweed also opens the door to the vast knowledge of the Islamic world, including religious, linguistic and historic elements, while providing you with a perfect platform from which you may learn one or more of the associated programs; Jurisprudence and Islamic Canon Law.

Special Features

    * Proficient Scholars of Scripture shall be involved in your Tajwid/Tajweed teaching at all levels of the program.  Your study will be supported by the multimedia facilities, which shall be available on the Cordova Academy website.  
    * Personal tutors based in the Department of Scriptural Studies will help you in planning your progress and reflecting on it, to ensure that you are constantly building up transferable and academic skills.

Seeing as Tajwid/Tajweed is primarily associated with the Qur`an, there are numerous opportunities for graduates of the Tajwid/Tajweed program at Cordova Academy.  The academic and social skills acquired from the courses, which equips graduates with the ability to broaden their understanding of the Islamic faith.  This will also benefit any who wish to further their studies on Islamic Culture, History, Islamic Canon Law and linguistics.

Entry Requirements

English language: Candidates must be proficient in the English language, which is the language of instruction and examination at the Academy.

Coursework and Assessment

Nearly all course units are assessed by a combination of course work , oral and written examinations.
